European Association for Astronomy Education – Polish Branch

The European Association for Astronomy Education (EAAE) is an international non-profit organization that has been working since 1995 to advance and promote astronomy education in Europe. The Association brings together teachers, educators, astronomers, and astronomy enthusiasts, creating a space for the exchange of knowledge, teaching experience, and modern methods of teaching about the Universe. EAAE supports both formal and non-formal education, promoting astronomy as a field that inspires the exploration of the physical and natural sciences.

The Polish branch of EAAE actively contributes to this mission by developing astronomy education in Poland and integrating communities involved in science popularization. Our activities are aimed at primary and secondary school teachers, students, university lecturers, as well as all lovers of the night sky—regardless of their level of experience.

Astronomy Education for Teachers and Astronomy Enthusiasts

The goal of the Polish branch of EAAE is to support teachers and educators in effective astronomy teaching and to inspire enthusiasts to deepen their knowledge of space. We promote education based on observation, experimentation, and independent discovery, as well as an interdisciplinary approach to astronomy that combines physics, mathematics, chemistry, history, and the philosophy of science.

EAAE’s activities include organizing educational events, workshops, conferences, and participating in international educational projects. As a result, participants gain access to up-to-date astronomical knowledge, modern teaching materials, and a European network for cooperation in science education.

EAAE Summer and Winter Astronomy Schools

One of the most important elements of the Polish branch’s activities is the regular organization of EAAE Astronomy Schools—both summer and winter editions. These are intensive educational events aimed at teachers, students, and all astronomy enthusiasts who wish to develop their skills and knowledge.

The Schools’ program includes:

  • lectures on astronomy and astrophysics,
  • practical educational workshops,
  • night-sky observations using telescopes,
  • classes on the methodology of teaching astronomy.

EAAE Astronomy Schools are not only about learning, but also about integrating the astronomical community, exchanging experiences, and building long-term cooperation among teachers, educators, and science enthusiasts.

International Projects and European Cooperation

The Polish branch of EAAE actively participates in international educational projects. These projects foster creativity, research skills, and interest in astronomy among students and teachers, enabling them to take part in the European community of astronomy education.

Join EAAE – Develop Your Passion for Astronomy

We invite everyone interested in astronomy and science education to co-create the Polish branch of the European Association for Astronomy Education. Whether you are a teacher, student, educator, or amateur astronomer—EAAE is a place where you can develop your passion, gain knowledge, and inspire others to discover the Universe.
