I am pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 16th EAAE Summer School, which will take place at the Youth Astronomical Observatory in Niepołomice near Kraków, Poland (https://moa.edu.pl), from July 6 to July 12, 2026.
This year’s Summer School is organized by the Polish branch of EAAE in cooperation with the Youth Astronomical Observatory in Niepołomice and the Kraków branch of PTMA.
The opening ceremony of the 16th EAAE Summer School will be held on Monday, July 6, at 3:00 PM at the Observatory in Niepołomice. Participants will be accommodated in four-person rooms at the Youth Astronomical Observatory, located at ul. Mikołaja Kopernika 2. A total of 44 accommodation places are available (including a reserved number for international participants). Accommodation at the Observatory is free of charge.
If the number of applicants exceeds the available accommodation capacity, participants will have the option to arrange lodging independently in hotels or guesthouses in Niepołomice. Assistance in finding such accommodation can be provided if necessary.
The Observatory offers a fully equipped kitchenette where participants may prepare breakfast or dinner, as well as coffee or tea. Lunches can be ordered via catering services or taken at one of several restaurants in town. All meals are to be arranged individually during breaks between sessions.
Lectures and workshops will be conducted in the Observatory’s lecture halls and laboratories. The facility provides Wi-Fi access. Astronomical observations will take place on the observation terrace and under the dome. Please remember to bring appropriate clothing, as nights may be cool despite the summer season.
Participants are welcome to bring their own computer, astronomical, or photographic equipment, although this is not required.

We warmly invite all interested individuals to register. As in previous years, participants are encouraged to propose their own presentations, lectures, or workshops via the application form. This is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and share knowledge with others.
We kindly ask applicants to make thoughtful decisions regarding their participation, so as not to occupy places that could be used by others interested in active involvement.
